I was just about to leave my car this afternoon and get back to work, after finishing my sandwich and a few pages of The Religious Affections, when I spied two lovely guests in the carpark.
Pukeko, the New Zealand swamp hen is beautiful with its colourful beak and plumage. Its white tail catches the sunlight and flashes when the bird is alarmed.
What a fantastic bird! I’ve never seen anything like it. Huge feet and a crazy looking head! Thanks for sharing that.
