Traffic in India is chaotic. But Indian vehiculartrafficologists will tell you that traffic in every Indian city is different. Here is a sample of what driving in Madurai is like. (Shot during our visit in January 2008)

One of my friends from India asked me if I was making fun of India after having lived there most of my life.  It’s not that. Maybe it is because we practically learned driving in New Zealand. When we lived in India, we could not afford a car and neither did we know driving; we always used public transport.  So when we visited India after being in New Zealand for two years, we were startled.
