We’ve booked to go to India in December and she’ll be a highlight of the trip. This is the photo of Joanna, my great niece, that her mother sent me yesterday by email. It reminds me of a song from my college days in the 1980s in Mount Carmel College, Bangalore (where this song, accompanied by some neat choreography, was one of the entries in a music competition). Here are some of the words.
. . . The naughty lady of Shady Lane has the town in a whirl.
The naughty lady of Shady Lane. Me, oh my, oh what a girl!
You should see how she carries on with her admirants galore
She must be giving them quite a thrill, the way they flock to her door.
She throws those “come hither” glances at every Tom, Dick and Joe
When offered some liquid refreshment, the lady never, never says, “No.” . . .
The naughty lady of Shady Lane, so delightful to hold
The naughty lady of Shady Lane. So delectable, quite respectable.
And she’s only nine days old(An Ames Brothers lyric)
Your niece is too cute. Also, it’s good to know that you are coming to India once again. 🙂
Regards,
KK
