A quick look at today’s news focussed my attention on “Avalanche buries 100 Pakistani soldiers.” What a tragedy; what a waste! This war in the world’s highest battlefield has gone on too long. Can we stop please? Instead, can we fight this in some sort of virtual battlefield and not with real men?

I write this with a feeling of helplessness because I know that in a day or two these men will be forgotten because they are not American soldiers or anything; I do not grudge the fact that the death of a single American soldier holds the attention of the world for longer than this will. It is just sad reality that lives of those living in many parts of the world are somehow valued less.
